We are defined by deep and extensive expertise, creative thinking, and a people-first culture. Established in 1919, Weeks draws on more than a century of success to create the most effective and innovative solutions in marine construction, dredging, marine services, tunneling, and aggregates, combined with the best-in-class equipment. Our family environment makes our company special, motivates us to come to work every day, and elevates the quality of our work.
Weeks Marine is hiring across many positions within our dredging teams, both aboard our vessels and on land. There are open positions within our hopper and hydraulic dredge fleets.
All hourly employees that join our hopper dredge fleet must join the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots (MM&P). Weeks Marine is proud to partner with MM&P to offer competitive rates, bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
All hourly employees that join our east coast projects for our hydraulic dredge fleet are eligible to join the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 25 (L25). Weeks Marine is proud to partner with L25 to offer competitive rates and comprehensive benefits.
All hourly employees that join our hydraulic dredge fleet located in the Gulf region or shoreside positions are offered competitive rates and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing and tuition reimbursement.
Our work impacts people’s lives in countless ways – from environmental protection, to global and domestic infrastructure, to supporting international trade and our economy – all resulting in protecting and maintaining our way of life. In order to make a difference, we embrace challenges, pull together as a team, and use our deep expertise and resources to accomplish things we previously thought impossible. We also complete our work with the highest degree of care and protection for our planet. “When you are doing something that is really impactful to the country, to the people, to the economy, it makes you feel good about your job,” said Alberto Marvarez, Staff Engineer, when asked about what working at Weeks means to him.
Our people have the opportunity to grow their careers in a nurturing environment that rewards hard work and embracing challenges. Individuals have transitioned from the field to management, from laborers to operations, and across businesses as well. Jason Marchioni explains his personal Weeks trajectory, “I started as a tugboat deckhand in 1996 and I worked my way up to become a captain on a vessel. I worked on boats for about seven to eight years, and then I made a transition into the field. Now I'm a Vice President with Weeks Marine and the General Manager of our subsidiary, North American Aggregates.”
No two projects are the same and this provides a challenging, exciting environment that is ripe for innovation and continuous improvement. At Weeks, you are exposed to a diverse group of people and types of work, spanning from those driving tugboats and steering cranes, working from our new state-of-the-art Cranford, NJ headquarters, or manning our many yards. Weeks has a robust and growing presence in North and South America, and combined with our key subsidiaries, our offices and project locations span along the Eastern Seaboard and Gulf Coast, as well as in Canada and Hawaii.
Weeks Marine dedicates itself to employee satisfaction by offering competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and life-insurance plans, as well as retirement-savings plans. It’s a human environment where people that work at Weeks are respected in all facets of their life, not just as employees in the company – they are seen as people with families, and with valuable contributors within the organization and outside as well.
We commit to excellence in all we do with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
We conduct our business to the highest ethical standards and take responsibility for our actions.
We care for the well-being of our people and help them grow in their ability to be successful.
We preserve Weeks Marine's unique culture to build a stronger organization for future generations of employees.
"I've gotten the opportunity to work with several of our dredges and crews in locations all over the Gulf and the East coast. I absolutely love the fact that no two projects are the same and that they each present their own challenges and opportunities to learn and grow in my role as a Project Engineer."
Our employees are a part of our family and we plan to see them home safe every day. At Weeks, safety isn’t just a goal. It’s a mindset that permeates every aspect of our work. From the office to the ocean, we look out for one another through our Weeks for LIIFE program. Weeks for LIIFE ensures an environment where employees work to uphold safety regulations and the highest level of safety awareness. Our safety policies also result in recognition. In 2021, Weeks received a Safety Appreciation Award from the Council for Dredging & Marine Construction for over 250,000 hours without a recordable or lost time incident aboard our hopper dredge Magdalen. Additionally, our subsidiary NAA received a 2021 MSHA Achievements in Safety award for zero recordable accidents that year.
